Gail’s credentials expand to include her many leadership roles in the community. Currently Gail serves on The Advisory Board of Florence Crittenton Services, The Echo Foundation, and is Past President of The Learning Society of Queens University, where she is still on The Executive Board of Directors.

As a long time member and past president of Charlotte Concerts’ Board of Directors, she currently chairs The Development Committee.  Gail is also founder of The AIDS Task Force of Myers Park Presbyterian Church, one of the founding supporters of RAIN (Regional Aids Interfaith Network), a RAIN team member for many years, RAIN Board Member, and a Myers Park Presbyterian Church Elder, where she has chaired may major events, most recently The Tony DeBlois Concert as a member of The Music Committee,  to name a few of her more recent activities. Gail also serves on The Advisory Board of Central Piedmont Community College School of Design.

In 1998 Gail Brinn Wilkins received a most distinguished honor by Queens University and Wachovia Bank, Charlotte Businesswoman of the Year. In September 2002 Gail received The Agnes M. Barry Volunteer Service Award given by Regional Aids Interfaith Network (RAIN) on its 10th Anniversary. In 2003, Gail was honored with Meredith College’s Distinguished Alumni Association’s Career Achievement Award where the same year she was chosen to be the Kappa Omicron Nu Leadership Lecturer.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Students

For three years, Gail Brinn Wilkins chaired the Catherine Eason and Friends Concert presenting $300,500, divided equally to RAIN and Florence Crittenton Services. For the past eight years, Gail has been event chair for the much celebrated Echo Foundation event. At present, having just successfully co-chaired the Leon Levine Challenge Grant Campaign for A Musical Showcase. For students in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, this project, along with others, represents the dedication Gail has for community, the arts and underserved schools and deserving students, with special emphasis on the Performing Musical Arts.

 

Gail’s philosophy of life is seen and felt professionally and personally in her business, community, and personal life. She believes we are all here for each other to serve and love and care, encouraging one another to share his own uniqueness and gifts so others’ lives may be enriched.
